Collar

have only ever used a harness on Luigi, but I have recently signed him up for a doggy show which I have to train him for. In doggy shows they use a skinny lead around their necks so I decided to make him a collar so he gets used to having something around his neck.

I have never made any collars before, but this is SO easy that it didn't matter. I made it in like 10 minutes. could have taken my time a little more and made it a little prettier, but I was in a hurry so it looks a little shabby.

Just imagine these in all the colors and different styles possible!

If you make a collar with my step by step, please do email me a picture at misshalat@gmail.com

If you're wondering why it says "My Awesome Beauty" on the images it's because it's my blog. Luigi also has a blog there. Check us out!

You need nylon webbing in 20mm or 25mm. I have 25mm in these pictures but I would have liked a 20mm. You also need 2 D-rings and some fleece fabric.

Measure your dogs neck and make cut your fleece fabric in that length. Luigi is 24cm around his neck so I added 1cm to not make it tight. 12cm wide was perfect for the 25mm nylon webbing.

Fold the fleece fabric in to the middle so the nylon webbing covers it when it's sewed on.

Add the first D-ring and sew it closed.

Use pins to hold the fleece fabric together while sewing the nylon webbing on.

Pull the excess nylon webbing through the second D-ring and the first one (which is sewn on).

Sew it shut before and after the first D-ring. If you want you can sew it shut between the two D-rings like I have or you can just leave it.
